St. Patrick's Day

In Malaysia, we do not celebrate St. Patrick's day but I think it is always an advantage for the children to learn about others cultures and festival. I've mounted photos of shamrock, St. Patrick and leprechaun, with short sentences, and had it laminated. I had it then pasted on the wall ( eye level) for the children to see and read. This way children not only able to relate based on the stories that we told them but also to improve their words vocabulary.  We decorated the bulletin board with shamrock, rainbow and a pot of gold with the labels. We had the children's foot print on the wall and labelled it "leprechaun's footprint". We also made leprechaun from a paper plate. Happy St. Patty's day to all.

Halloween Party

It's that time of the year again. It's Halloween!! As a matter of fact, halloween party wasn't on my list-to-do in 2010. But much to the persuasion of the parents ( Yes you read it right, the parents not the children), I organised it. So..who says only children love halloween? While the children look forward to attend in their costumes and treats, the parents look forward to mingle with each other and have a feast. Everyone loves the decorations, costumes, trick-or-treating around the neighbourhood and also the scrumptious buffet spread that we had. This year, we have games lined up for the children and parents too. The parents took part in pictionary and scary sandwich making. Whereas the children played with candy tossing game and witch cone hunt. We definitely had a creep-tastic halloween.

5th Get-together & Christmas Party

I know I have missed out on a couple of topics before this graduation and I know a lot of the parents have been waiting for me to post up blogs on halloween. My sincere apology to all and I hope this will be the first and the beginning of my many back-dated blogs.

Before I begin, I'd like to welcome Deborah Lim, Tan Ee Chuen and Lai Yee Hung to Fingertips Day Nursery & Kindergarten.

First off, let me congratulate the class of 2010. You have achieved so much in a year. We are thrilled to see how well you have done and hope you will thoroughly enjoy your big day.

It was just so exciting to see how well you have done. Congratulations to Justin Tan, Chan Rui Xin and Ryan Matthew. You are all stars in the eyes of your parents and teachers. You will have so much to look forward to after the outstanding performance you have had. You all know how important it is to learn your numbers, letters, words and reading in 3 languages. You have all learned to wash your hands, wash your plates as well as tidy-up after tea. Today we have seen your amazing artwork and most of all your compassion towards others. Well done !!

I'm going to take some time to talk about my graduating students.

Justin = He loves to read and is very knowledgeable. He is able to talk to you on almost anything, be it football, movies, expreiences and so on.He is matured in thinking but at times tend to be lazy and very talkative.

Chan Rui Xin = She is a sweet and pretty girl. She shows creativeness in her artwork and is very dedicated to her studies. She is also a determined child and has very neat and beautiful hand writing. Due to her strong determination, it makes her stubborn.

Ryan = He is a smart and jovial boy. He tells you almost everything ( that he can think of).He is a very obedient boy not to mention polite. He can be very playful and talkative.

To the parents: The love, kindness and the patience that you have given to your children has been ourstanding. As parents, we just love how our children have responded to you, have been inspired by you and also how they just loved to get here in the morning.( Well..sometimes they don't when they woke up on the wrong side of bed). We believe that you have set our children up very well for primary. Thank you, parents.

To the teachers: Thanks again to the teachers without which the ceremony and party would not have been possible.
