Mid - autumn festival fell on 3rd October this year. Even though it fell on Saturday, we organized a small celebration of this festival a day ahead. We have notified the parents to dress their children in chinese costumes.
All the children gathered outside and carried their lanterns which they made it themselves. They paraded around the school before they headed to the dining room to sample a few varieties of moon cakes.
We were so lucky and fortunate to have home-made moon cakes made by Zhao Pei's mum. It was delicious and of course healthy too. Thank you, Mrs. Tam !!
Traditionally, this festival was celebrated with family gatherings where moon cakes wereserved while children played with lantern. Now it is celebrated both ways where the children can celebrate with us , teachers and of course their friends and also with family. What could be better!!!
bet the kids love the experience. especially some who may not be able to go out at night to parade with the lantern due to the constant rain.
