Sep News

Another month has passed and we are welcoming October's theme," Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See " . We have had a great time exploring with the theme " Under the Sea " creatures in September, and the children were asking for more. We will definetely include this theme again in the near future. We hope all of you particularly parents will enjoy browsing through our photographs and please leave some comments for improvement.  Scroll down and you will be amazed at all the activities that we have planned for the children.

Among the sea creatures that the toddler made are puffer fish ,shark ,star fish ,jelly fish , crab ,turtle ,sea horse and octopus.Besides that, we also decorated the board with sea weed and sea shells. We did a lot of sticking, gluing, tearing and finger painting on our crafts.

Just look at the beauty of the under the sea world where various sea creatures live together, hidden beneath the waves.

Do you know seahorse changes in its colors to match their surrounding? Sea horses are also among the tiniest fish in a coral reef. Look at how colorful our seahorses are.

For the development in mathematical area, we did counting of number 1-9 using fish counters. Besides counting, we also sorted the colour of the fish into their particular colour group. Again this activity also promotes turns- taking.

The toddlers also enjoyed playing with the sea creature's puzzle. These puzzles were carefully chosen for the toddlers. The puzzle that we choose are of thick and good quality, colorful, consists not more than 6 insets and must be attractive. They loved putting the pieces together over and over again. Through repetition , these children achieve self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.

The toddlers and pre-toddlers enjoyed the fishing game too. Besides, having fun fishing the sea creatures , this activity promote concentration skills, listening skills as well as hand to eye co-ordination.This activity also promotes co-operation among them and taking turn.

  1. hi!!! i would like to say that the blog is very well designed. great job.

it is a great idea to expose the toddlers to the sea creatures. james has been so excited that he can relate what he learns at school to the movie "Finding Nemo" he watches at home. he is also able to follow the story line easily since he knows about those sea creatures featured in the movie.

    keep up the good work.
